This post is of a trick I found by accident. A good friend of mine found a NIB Canon i9900 Wide Format printer at a rummage sale for $25.00, knowing that I would love it. He said he looked online and could not find any plugin support for the printer with the current Mac operating systems. After some trial and error like downloading Gimp Print drivers which didn't work well in this case, I went to Canon web site, and its true, there are no print drivers there for anything after 10.6 Snow Leopard. So I figured I'd try downloaded the drivers for 10.6, which I did, and low and behold it worked! Now that was on the Yosemite operating system. When I upgraded to El Capitan, it didn't work again, but tried the same thing and worked again!
So I guess where I'm going with this, is before you give up on an older printer not being supported, try downloading the last version for your operating system. What do you have to lose after all!
Till next time
