Till next time Happy Clicking Lance Hello all, if you were not aware of it yet, be mindful of the fact that Instagram tends to be one of the best ways to share you photographic or video content and hopefully drive more customers to your offerings on your site. And while the Instagram app is updated recently, also adding some cool new features (now also for business) it does have its limitations. So what to do!
The service I've settled on for now to help with that is called "Iconosquare." Their service offers some great enhancements to make managing your Instagram account not only a pleasure but a valuable resource of information and managing your posts in a concise way. How may you ask? Well, membership to their service offers great tools to ANALYZE, MANAGE, and ENGAGE your Instagram community. And they have developed a great IOS companion app as well. Check them out, try the free trial and see if it will work for you! Till next time Happy Clicking Thats right hold fast. I'm not talking about an old english saying shared on old sailing ships during the 1800. But A great camera strap I recently picked up. This duel camera strap which you can buy many ways is made from the folks at "HoldFast Leather Pro-Goods" The strap I bought is called the Money Maker, its constructed out of Bridle Leather and includes key items like Sliders, safety catches & 2 Camera HoldFasts. Construction is excellent, and is comfortable to wear all day. I've personally carried a Nikon D4 and D3 with 200-500mm Zooms and 70-200mm Zoom attached. If you don't like the leather options they do carry non-leather options as well. Some may consider the price a bit high. Mine was 230.00. But the comfort and security are well worth it.
In this post I would touch on the various types of lights that are used in photography, and where there best incorporated. So here we go!
Fluorescent Lights: are cool operating and have long lasting blubs. HMI: (Hydrargyrum Medium Areiodide) These lights are soft and require little power Strobe Lights: which flash at set speeds, these are the go too for action photography. Tungsten Lights: offer continuous output and run very hot, buy ones with mesh bulb protectors! Well till next time Happy Clicking Lance Reflectors are a tool a photographer uses often. But due to size, etc, we don't always carry with us. Well there is a reflector that does not take much room, and easy to store! A white shirt is a very simple reflector . I will bounce light on your subjects almost as good as a regular reflector.
To absorb excess light do the opposite and use a black shirt! Till next time Happy Clicking Lance Welcome, I first wish to hope everyone is having a great week! I have allot to share this week. first growth in my own photographic ventures, second a shout out for a friends new phonebook. And lastly some quick observations on the Sony 6300 camera. While I've always felt comfortable photographing wildlife, landscapes and classic aircraft. The one thing I have never felt comfortable with his photographing people. So one of my goals this last summer has been to take on that challenge. I tried this in a few different ways. One is the photographing friends of mine playing baseball at area Park. The other was what occurred this weekend. I had the opportunity to expand my photographic horizons, was more model type shoot. Teaming up with my good friend Gur on this endeavor we we had chatted about often in the last couple years. That of her in traditional dress which we would then photographed in various areas of the city. Number One, a huge shout out to my friend all Gur, both for taking the time to do this with me and all that all she added to the shoot that day. And and also to her fiancé Chris for letting me borrow his wife to be for a couple hours. The day went amazing getting some wonderful shots of my friend which in turn helps me in developing my photographic skills. So my last thoughts in regards to this our relation to my title of my post. I know you all have subjects that we like to shoot. Never be afraid to try out something you you might surprise yourself! And also learn something in the process both, which of course is enriching. What will be the technical aspect of the shoot. Camera was made on the D750, with the Nikon AF-S 24 to 85 mm zoom. As it was just the two of us I did not use any fill flash or reflectors. You'll see some of the pictures below. My second share today is for my photography friend Scott Engel who just published a new book on the iTunes store. Scott has published other book's, if you not had a chance to check out his work I highly suggest you take a few moments to do so. Link at: https://itun.es/us/eowOdb.l
Lastly, I'm nearing the end of my time at EAA Air Venture in Oshkosh Wisconsin. If your into planes or aviation in any way this is a one stop shop of all types of aircraft covering pretty much all the years of flight! Till Next time Happy Clicking! Lance Hi All, couple callouts to share. Let me state I use Lightroom and Photoshop as my primary photo editing tools, that said I use a number of others as plugins that all offer some great options for editing. One of those is Affinity Photo which as the title says you can get 20% off through the App store. One of the nice things if you an Apple user and use photo's, is it will work as an extension right out of Photo's!
Affinity Photo is now 20% off for the next two weeksIf you haven’t yet bought Affinity Photo this is a great time to do it, as it is now available for a limited time at the discounted price of only £29.99 / $39.99 / €39.99. Till next time, Happy Clicking! Lance Hi all, I decided to share some updated observations around the Nikon 200-500mm VR as much of this month I’ve been using the lens with a Nikon TC14E version 2 Teleconverter. I am very happy to report the combo has performed extremely well. Allowing me to capture what we tend to call the little ones (songbirds) and some father away duck shots. The sharpness is still outstanding, with the teleconverter attacked my starting F-stop is F8. And using handheld is still awesome with its VR rated at 4½ stops improvement. Remember too this lens works great on full frame cameras, but performance is awesome on DX as well. current list of cameras it works with follows: D5,D4, D4s, D3, D3s, D3P, D3x, Df, D810, D800/e, D750, D700, D610, D600, D300, D300s, D7000, D7100, D7200, D5500, D5300, D5200, D5100, D5000, D3300, D3200, D3100 and newer Overall, if your shooting Nikon and looking for a great birding, wildlife shooting option that won’t break the bank! This lens which you can fine for around $1400.00, and a TC14 converter might the perfect combo. Till next time.
