A small reminder to all! I consider myself pretty tech savvy, I keep up with tends, I keep my stuff up to date, be it Computer, iPad/Phone, software etc! But even the best of us can have an epic fail! So let me explain. About a week and a half ago, Lightroom Classic on my computer had started working real slow! So I checked out the standard stuff, updates, fine, Troubleshooting could not find anything. Until I found that the hard drive I use as my main working library was near full. Now I'll amid that in the past I'd not been really good at going through my images while importing and culling the bad ones. Thus entered a Program called Photosweaper. This is an excellent choice to go through your images Libraries. Works with pretty much any program or photo storage method! So after doing that and freeing up lots of disk space, I thought I should be good, right? Well not yet, still running slow, what could be wrong? Well, I finally figured it out. Id not checked the firmware on my Promise Pegasus in quite awhile, sure enough, did that and we're good again. Drive and Lightroom are snappy again. Moral of this story! Just try to troubleshoot in an organized way, don't blast a program of equipment without due diligence on your part! Till Next Time! Happy Clicking Lance PS. Happy Clicking Lance Talk about a week folks! Last week found some days approaching 60 degrees in my area, which is Southern Wisconson. I had some great days in the field. Seeing Common Loons on small area lakes during a stopover on their migration northward. And that was a good thing indeed, as the Northern half of my state as well as bordering states got hit with a late Winter storm over the weekend. Many places receiving a couple feet, we've gotten my guess of 4-6 inches in our area. So besides the Loon picture this week, I got some pics of some of the Lighthouses in our area getting buffeted by 15-foot waves. That was just what I experienced. Lance Apple's powerhouse iMac Pro wows with stellar performance and design Happy New Year everyone! I'm wishing you a healthy Happy New Year! To start off the year I thought I'd share some things I learned about or reviewed the last few weeks of 2017. 1. Something that will make its way to my camera bag shorty, the "Platypod" What is a Platypod? Platypod makes flat tripods. They are the world's most compact mini tripod bases for photographers. Inspired by the duck-billed platypus, an animal with flat and broad feet, we designed our camera supports to be ideal for low-angle shots and situations where traditional tripods are cumbersome or impractical. Their flat design makes them strong. Platypods can support even the biggest DSLR cameras and the heaviest lenses. Platypods can also become a portable studio, with accessory holes that are compatible with strobes. Website: https://platypod.com 2. A review I found interesting from NASIM MANSUROV between Microsoft Surface Book 2 vs Apple MacBook Pro Link: Microsoft Surface Book 2 vs Apple MacBook Pro 3. I have both a Max out iMac and a 2013 MacPro that I used primarily for my editing options. Apples recent release of the new iMac Pro though is Impressive! Plus it just looks awesome in the SpaceGrey Color. Here's a great review from the folks at AppleInsider: Hello all, hope you had a pleasant Thanksgiving and enjoyed your time with your friends, family or just chilling. With the Christmas shopping season in full play, and people stressing out what to get for that someone special! I wanted to share an offering that might help you with your holiday needs, and help some friends of mine at the Milwaukee County Zoo.
